Term 3 Week 2

We did not have any lessons on Monday so lessons continued on Thursday. Once Mr. Chua stepped in and went to the teacher’s desk, that’s when the lecture started. Mr. Chua reprimanded us to hand in our homework into the box before he came in but many of my classmates did not do so. He was furious and we got 15 minutes of scolding thanks to some people.
Once that was over, our lesson began. Mr. Chua distributed the text that we paid for last lesson. The text was on Elvis Presley. Mr. Chua told us to draw a table of three columns. The first column was “what do I know” the second was “what do I want to know” and the last column was “what have I learnt”. We went through the text and I learnt that he was the best selling solo artist and that he earned the nickname “The King of Rock and Roll”. He was famous in the 1950’s and 60’s and that he led a dramatic life. After going through the text, and discussing with the class what we knew, Mr. Chua proceeds on to show us a video of Elvis Presley.

We dint managed to see the full video as someone in the class turned the volume of the speakers to mute. We wasted a lot of time and Mr. Chua was furious by then. We were told go watched the video at home and think about our behaviour and reflect on them.
Our class ended in a bad mood. But I have learnt that most celebrities live a dramatic life due to family problems or drug addiction. A few examples would be Lindsay Lohan or Michael Jackson. And most of them died at early ages enabling to fulfil to life up to the fullest.
